Lilac Theatre Dance has now been running successfully for four years and during this time we have achieved so much.
We are very proud of all our students, teachers and parents; for their passion and support and for contributing to what makes Lilac a very special dance school! Our small class sizes and expert tuition allows us to push each dancer to reach their highest potential. All pupils take regular examinations with the IDTA (we have a 100% pass rate in Highly Commended and Honours) and participate in an annual show at The Terry O'Toole Theatre.
After a very busy four years of success we have so far enabled our students to work with professional companies, some of our success stories include; students working with 'The Royal Ballet' at 'The Yorkshire Ballet Seminar', 'The Birmingham Royal Ballet' this coming Easter, 'CAT; a contemporary dance programme for gifted and talented students' and have been selected to dance twice in a row to dance alongside the 'Stars of Strictly Come Dancing' at the Theatre Royal, Lincoln in their UK National Tour.
In 2011 we founded our Lilac Theatre Dance Associate Academy, following successful auditions we offered 20 talented individuals aged 11yrs-18yrs the chance to attend a monthly Associate class in which they will receive excellent dance training by top industry professionals. Some of our scheduled teachers at the Academy this year include; Tomas Simon (Credits include: Cheryl Cole, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, The Saturdays and Alexandra Bruke), Kelly Price (Guys and Dolls, BBC's Waterloo Road), Rebecca Grant (BBC's Holby City, Bombay Dreams) and Makiko Fukudo; Star of 'The Lion King' (West End), plus many more professionals over 7 monthly workshops, please see the information page for more details.
